The New Superfoods for 2017

Every year, Today’s Dietitian polls registered dietitians (RDs) across the country to determine their “What’s Trending?” list. This year, they got over 1,200 RDs to decide the top 10 new superfoods of 2017. Here’s what they picked:

  1. Seeds – chia, hemp, etc
  2. Avocado
  3. Nuts – walnuts, almonds, etc
  4. Fermented foods – yogurt, kimchi, etc
  5. Ancient grains – barley, oats, etc
  6. Kale
  7. Green tea
  8. Coconut products – coconut butter, coconut milk, etc
  9. Exotic fruits – papaya, pitaya, etc
  10. Salmon
